She sometimes believed to be the wife of Kashyap and the two would several children such as Indra and Surya. Aditi is often associated with cows and is called the cosmic cow, her milk is identified with the drink Soma.
She is also an earth goddess and gave brith to the 12 Adityas (sons of Aditi) which includes Varuna. She gave brith to one of the Avatars of Vishnu and is rumored to have given birth to Vishnu himself.
