Soul Hackers was sure and experience.
And fair enough. I personally think that it's easier to appreciate something as a product of its time if you've already seen what it became. I played SMT I after SMT III and IV, and I definitely appreciated the game a lot more than I would've if I played it first. However, that's just me.
Personally, I don't think SMT I is a great place to start. It's far from polished, and has a whole ton of problems that were fixed by III and IV. And it's not like there's any story importance unless you're playing II.
Or, I guess, Messiahs in the Diamond Realm.
That depends. If you're looking to play specifically SMT, either III or IV is probably the best place to start. They have the most refined and intuitive battle systems as a result of coming after a lot of trial and error. If you mean SMT as a franchise, probably a Persona game that isn't 3 because those are the most new-player friendly.
Yo, Queen in second place, I didn't even know that was possible. Represent!
I mean, she didn't need one. But there's a lot of unnecessary things in Royal.
Maybe he's just Yusuke being Yusuke.
I mean, Tatsuya is a whole character in EP.
And they all have little bits of personality. For instance, Makoto is pretty quiet and unassuming no matter what you do with him and is inherently morbid due to his apathy over death, while Yu is at bare minimum a pretty responsible guy since he's watching the house by himself a lot in December and January and Dojima doesn't complain about anything.
Well, it has Marie in it, which is more than enough to make lots of people hate it. She's probably the most polarizing character in Persona.
Golden also added bike dates, which made Naoto playable. It also added two extra Arcana and a whole bunch of new Personas, and rebalanced skill costs and power to make Chie playable. And that filler adds a ton of extra development onto the characters, who frankly need it. Persona's obsession with fitting characters into neat little Tarot boxes means that they rely pretty heavily on interaction to make them interesting, which Golden did tremendously.
K, I was just wondering cause the wording on your initial comment confused me for a hot second.
Strange Journey is a great place to start, if you find a way there.
As a point of curiosity, does that mean you already played EP?
4G is the most similar to 5, so you might want to start there. 3P is also very similar, but not quite as polished as 4G and 5. 2IS is an entirely different game than the Persona you've seen, so don't go in expecting it to be the same at all. SMT IV, while it's a real great game, is definitely not Persona at all.
That's fair. It doesn't play like most SMT games, which means you either love the variety or you hate that it's not really SMT.
The legs came out well, good job.
An F in the chat for Q2 and Eternal Punishment
Just emphasize the kneecaps, and I think it'll be fine. Her legs look kinda weird to begin with, honestly, but the kneecaps make the in slope on her thigh look a little more natural.
Mishima is the worst for a lot of reasons, not the least of which is the fact that his confidant eats up over 20 time slots if you don't have Kawakami's maxed.
His Mementos requests are all that's required- you don't even need to boost relationship with him. If you haven't done his request, you can't rank up his confidant. 10 is just like the rest- run the request, and it's a freebie.
Sometimes I forget SMT and early Persona were M.
Then I remember that creepy Shesha Flynn portrait and literal Hitler as villains.
First- what year it is has no bearing on anything.
Second- She can be excluded on the grounds that she's not the protagonist in the mainline games, which everyone else is. I get that you like her, which is valid, but she just isn't the Persona 3 protagonist. She's a spinoff protagonist. She has no more claim to the title than Aigis.
Third- nobody is hating her. We were making jokes, and nobody is saying she's a terrible protagonist or that she doesn't deserve to be on the list.
Fourth- Why doesn't the canon matter? I'm genuinely confused on this point. If you mean that it has no bearing on the poll or list, fine. However, the creator of the post excluded her for some reason, and we don't know what. Maybe they meant main line protags only, or maybe they just didn't know about her. If you don't like the poll, make your own.
That sounded really snobbish and awful, so I'm sorry. I don't mean to disparage you; I just tend to get long-winded and wound up when I get going, no matter how small a thing it is.
Wasn't P3s awakening just calmly shooting himself in the head while Yukari was useless? Not really super dramatic or anything.
Granted, Thanatos makes the whole thing a bunch more interesting.
