I got into persona very late. I started playing persona 4 when i finally bought vita on a verge of its dropped support in 2015. When i started playing it i loved the characters instantly, keep in mind that is my second ever JRPG i've played (first was Chrono Trigger). Then i got distracted by so many other game titles and releases. Cought up with finishing studies and work. I finally decided to go back and play it again.
It just hit me when i saw that Persona 5 is getting a soon release in april, and i've barely touched the game. I realised i wouldn't be able to put 80 hours into the game so i find out that there was 26 part series based on the game which i forced my girlfriend to watch with me (she never watched anime besides some few Ghibli movies). We were watching few episodes a day and when we were not watching i was pushing through the game along with the anime, obviously not keeping up, but i loved to choose my actions in contrast to anime!
Today we just finished watching the anime both burst into tears on how good and heart breaking it was... for multiple reasons: first it gave us a lot of food to process for our brains, we've learned a lot from it, especially to cherish the ones you love and human connections you make, because ultimately its what makes you stronger as a person. Secondly we felt happy for all the cast of chatacters, especially the way Narukami became so human after the special episode. And thirdly it was just so sad to let it all go... my girlfriend thirst for more of this universe as well as mine just got so big, and i can't just start to comprehend there are still like 4 more games based on Persona 4 (2 arenas, Dancing game and a Q on 3DS). I want to play all of them so bad since those are considered cannon, i want to know what other story arcs those games could open for the characters, and i just so badly want those friends to come together to face many more troubles!
As an unrelated thing it was amazing to find out that personas are connected and written after real Japanese mythological gods. It makes it even more cool.
Regardless, after i watched the anime i just felt so left out from all the bandwagon that started in 2008. I have less time now for video games, and i feel i will never be able to make up so much time for this missed amazing experience. I am now at the part where i am trying to save Kanji in the Vita game, but since i watched the anime, i feel i can leave this game to rest and blast through other ones since those are shorter than the main game, since i just ordered Persona 5 and its going to be delivered to me in around 20 days. I am just not sure what you guys think of other games apart from Golden, are those games worth to experience? Is the continuation of the story really good or just meh, should i still force myself to play trough the original Golden to experience everything first hand, as well as spin offs before arrival of 5th?
Anyways, just wanted to know if i am the only one feeling the same way, i wanted to get every single bit of story and characters i can get from Persona 4 cast (i absolutely love Chie and Yosuke) i love the universe and community! I hope i will have the same fan-affections for the characters from Persona 5 when i will start playing it.
EVERYDAY IS GREAT AT YOUR JUNES
