La franquicia Megami Tensei se refiere a toda la franquicia de juegos y spin-offs de Megami Tensei, desarrollada principalmente por Atlus y actualmente propiedad de Sega. La serie comenzó con una serie de novelas escritas por Aya Nishitani, la primera de las cuales es Digital Devil Story: Megami Tensei. La franquicia ha abarcado muchos géneros de consolas y formas de medios, y es una de las franquicias de RPG japonesas más populares. Aunque menos popular, Megami Tensei, o simplemente llamada "Megaten" por los fans, contiene más juegos y spin-offs que casi cualquier otra franquicia.
Series de juegos[]
Desde que Shin Megami Tensei fue lanzado como un spin-off de la serie original de videojuegos Megami Tensei, la franquicia Megami Tensei ha creado múltiples series spin-off. Aunque pueden desviarse en cuanto a la jugabilidad, todavía están unidos por elementos comunes, además de compartir un conjunto de demonios, afinidades, habilidades, objetos, etc.
Actualmente, las pocas series activas son la Serie Shin Megami Tensei, considerada la serie "principal" (ya que técnicamente es una continuación del Megami Tensei regular), la serie Persona, que superaría en ventas a la serie Shin Megami Tensei, y la serie Devil Summoner, que recibió una nueva entrega en 2022.
